Röhrl’s navigator

Born in Munich on 1 February 1953, Geistdörfer partnered Walter Röhrl from 1977 to 1987. Together they won the world title in 1980 for Fiat and in 1982 for Opel, and won the Monte Carlo Rally four times.

Röhrl’s co-driver for two titles and four Monte Carlo wins.

The Group B years

After Röhrl stopped rallying, Geistdörfer co-drove for Hannu Mikkola in 1988 and 1989.

Statistics on this page cover world championship rallies from January 1982 to December 1986, excluding the annulled 1986 Rallye Sanremo, and are counted from the entry lists and results in Jonkka’s World Rally Archive. ‘Starts’ means appearances on an entry list.
